For the second time, an SEIU Local 199 nurse member will serve on Iowa’s Board of Nursing. Gov. Chet Culver named Lisa Flanagan, a nurse at The Finley Hospital in Dubuque to the prestigious panel. She fills a seat that Pauline Taylor, a UIHC RN, will vacate after serving for nine years. The mission of the board is to protect the public health, safety and welfare by ensuring that nursing is practiced by at least minimally competent licensed individuals who practice within their authorized scope of practice.
