SEIU Local 199 represents all care giving staff at the senior retirement home located in the northeast corner of Iowa. Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Dietary workers, Housekeeping staff and Maintenance staff are all represented in this wall to wall bargaining unit. Workers organized with Local 199 in 1996 when they became convinced that they could provide better care for seniors in the Decorah area by coming together and speaking with one voice.
