Sign up for Training in May

As members told us in our recent telephone survey (see related article) they wanted to know more about their contracts and their rights as workers. Well, we heard you. On May 31st, from 9 a.m. to noon at the union hall (102 2nd Ave. in Coralville) we will be having a training that focuses specifically on understanding your contract rights and the other rights you have as workers under the law. You will have an opportunity to ask questions specific to your contract as well as get an overview of steward rights. There will also be segments of the training that look at protections ranging from those under the Fair Labor Standards Act to how to protect your civil rights in the workplace.
