Everybody knows that chapters going to the bargaining table this year and early next year are in for a tough fight given the current economic climate.  Our folks at the Mahaska County Highway Department and the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home are already in the midst of some difficult bargaining sessions.

The key for them and for the rest of us is to stick together. If each of us can find one person who is not a member and who we think we can get to join, we have to do so. Bargaining is much easier when we’re talking for nearly all the people in the bargaining unit rather than just a small percentage.
